Laney College has extended its deadline for degree and certificate petitions to Friday, March 19, 2021.

Students with 45 or more associate-level units were informed of the deadline extension in a March 11 email from the Laney Counseling Department.

As stated in the email, students with this many units “may be nearing completion of an associate’s degree.”

If students are unsure whether they meet these requirements or need assistance updating their education plan, it is recommended that they make an appointment with a counselor.

The original deadline was set for March 12. The extension gives students an extra week.

Students interested in applying can get their petition forms here. It is advised that all students meet with a counselor before submitting their petition, unless absolutely certain that they are eligible.

Completed petition forms should be submitted via email to: [email protected] and [email protected]. To make an appointment with a counselor, visit Laney College Online Counseling

The second option to make an appointment is to call (510) 464-3152. Leave a message with your name, student identification number and a call back number.

The hours of operation for the counseling department are Monday-Thursday 8AM to 7PM and Friday 8AM to 12 PM. For further questions or concerns in relations to degrees or certificates last names A-Z should contact Shou Huang. Last names M-Z should contact Tina Tabor. For all additional questions please contact Laney admissions via email at [email protected]
