    Volleyball season ends

Laney volleyballThe Laney Colley women’s volleyball team lost in three games to visiting College of Alameda 25–18, 25–10, 25–14 on Nov. 12 in what turned out to be the last game for the Eagles this season.
Due to a shortage of players, the Eagles were forced to forfeit their last two Bay Valley Conference games against Solano College and the College of Marin. They had previously forfeited a home game against Yuba College earlier in the month.
Laney played its first game against COA that was full of comebacks but ultimately fell short of a victory. The Eagles were tied at 15–15 before the Cougars (3–10) pulled away.Laney volleyballLaney fell behind 7–0 in the second game and was never able to recover.
The third game was more of the same for the beleaguered Eagles, who were swept by COA in both games this season.

In the fall of 2019, The Laney Tower rebranded as The Citizen and launched a new website. These stories were ported over from the old Laney Tower website, but byline metadata was lost in the port. However, many of these stories credit the authors in the text of the story. Some articles may also suffer from formatting issues. Future archival efforts may fix these issues.
